Oban Collective
Working together builds stronger communities
ALIenergy is part of the Oban Collective, working alongside the core partners to respond to local needs - to strengthen community wellbeing, sustainability, and opportunity.
The partnership grew from the Connecting Communities Collective project, which was built on the understanding that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts; because by working together, we can better use resources, share learning, and reach more people in our communities.
Working together through the Collective enables partners to take part in joint events and programmes that strengthen community connection, such as the Re-Love Hub and fashion shows highlighting sustainability and creativity.
We believe in collaboration, not competition.
This partnership approach helps us respond more effectively to local needs, develop joint initiatives, and build stronger relationships. This has resulted in our flagship project, Re_Store, the community shop in George Street, Oban. Led by Hope Kitchen, Re_Store celebrated its first anniversary in March 2025. The store is open Monday to Saturday 10am - 4pm selling preloved clothing, homewares, books and toys, aswell as hosting the Rescued Food Project and providing space for repair and upcycling workshops. More recently, representatives of Re_Store and Oban & District Development Trust marked the successful purchase of the Re_Store building, securing it as a valuable community asset for engagement, creativity and collaboration.
