Kintyre Gets Ready for Winter

The Kintyre Prepare for Winter event in Campbeltown was a real hit! Our advisors were thrilled to see so many people come along, and there was a great mix of local organisations on hand to help out. It was a fantastic chance for visitors to check out what support is available for the colder months ahead. There was a prize draw for a heated blanket, thanks to SGN, and a lively STEM activity corner that kept the wee ones entertained. The scones and tray bakes from Bute Advice Centre also went down a treat!

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, and the feedback from both the organisations and Councillor John Armour was glowing. He mentioned how important it is to have a networking forum like this in Kintyre and was very impressed by the range of groups who got involved.

It was clear that people valued the opportunity to network and chat with others. Our team made sure to connect stallholders and point visitors in the right direction, which made everyone feel welcome and really boosted the energy in the hall.

The whole afternoon was lively and positive, with additional visitors after 3pm when lots of school pupils popped in for treats and handy energy-saving tips.

Some stallholders said they'd love to see more events like this popping up around Argyll. There’s already talk of setting up more Get Ready For Winter events in different areas next year. Keep on eye on our social media channels for info or news on other events that may be happening near you.

These are just a few of the partners who joined us, ready to share advice and help everyone get set for winter.
