The o2 Energy Saver Fund is now open

What is the o2 Energy Saver Fund?

A joint initiative between O2 and the Energy Saving Trust, this fund has been designed to help local communities (of between 10-25 households) to install energy saving measures in their homes that will help fight climate change.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be homeowners and must meet one of the following criteria:

  • The homeowner is aged 60 or over
  • The household has children aged 5 or under
  • The homeowner is in receipt of one of the following benefits:
    • State Pension Credit
    • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
    • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
    • War Disablement Benefit
    • Council Tax Benefit
    • Housing Benefit
    • Income Support
    • Disability Living Allowance
    • Attendance Allowance
    • Child Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,050)
    • Working Tax Credit (with an income of less than £15,050 and which must include a disability element)

All applicants (including the community leader) must be a member of the community and meet the criteria outlined above. Proof may be required.

The community leader will be the main point of contact for the community and the O2 Energy Saving Team. They will also be responsible for arranging the kick-off meeting, and ensuring that members of the community attend.

What does the fund provide?

Described as a makeover, the fund provides energy saving measures with the aim of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and saving members of the community money.

Examples of measures:

  • Loft insulation (including top-up)
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Draught proofing
  • Hot water tank insulation, and insulation of primary pipework
  • Low energy light bulbs
  • Energy advice
